Who We Are: The Mission Division provides local family physicians with a stronger collective voice in the integrated delivery of primary care within our community. It is our goal to provide a collaborative and innovative approach to patient-based care with a strong and transparent relationship between our Division, the GPSC, Fraser Health Authority, and the Ministry of Health.

District of Mission (DOM) - Fire & Rescue Service


Who We Are: The Mission Fire/Rescue Service has a strong commitment to fire safety.  The Department offers public education programs, varying from lectures on fire safety to extinguisher training for industry.  In addition, regular fire safety inspections are done by the Department to ensure compliance with the Fire Services Act and the BC Fire Code.

Seeking Volunteers / Participants: ESS volunteers are a dedicated group of people who prepare for, and respond to provide short-term disaster relief in the event of fires, floods, earthquakes or other emergencies.  For more information, please see the ESS Volunteer Information Sheet.​

Who We Are: Decoda Literacy Solutions is the only province-wide literacy organization in British Columbia. Providing resources, training and funds, we support community-based literacy programs and initiatives in over 400 communities across B.C. Our work supports children and families, youth, adults, Aboriginal and immigrant communities in an effort to build strong individuals, strong families and strong communities. As a non-profit organization, we rely on the generosity of individual donors, corporate partners and government to fund literacy work.

District of Mission (DOM) - Fraser River Heritage Park


Who We Are: Fraser River Heritage Park is Mission’s largest park, rich in history, natural beauty and with numerous amenities, the ideal location for gatherings of all sizes. The scenic views and the leisurely walking trails connect the Hatzic and Heritage Park areas of Mission. A great line up of events takes place in the park each year and the park is always looking for enthusiastic gardeners!


Seeking Volunteers / Participants: If you are an enthusiastic gardner, we would love you to join our team.  There are also a lot of special events in the park all year round and we are always seeking help.  Canada Day, Old Car Sunday, Roots n' Blues Fall Fest...

Who We Are: Social Planning/Social Development focuses on people, community and the factors that influence quality of life. Social Planning/Development differs from urban planning in that urban planning has a focus on land use, buildings and streets. In Mission, Social Planning/Development involves working with a Municipally appointed Social Development Commission and its related working groups to effect positive change, education and awareness in the community. Social Planning/Development also involves working with a variety of community groups and needs, building and encouraging community cooperation and providing support to community groups working towards social issues and community development.
