Breakfast Club of Canada, Mission

Who We Are: When you realize that 60% of learning happens before lunch, it becomes clear why breakfast is indeed the most important meal of the day. When children get a balanced meal in a positive, stimulating environment, there are marked improvements in:

  • Behaviour and concentration
  • Academic performance
  • Social skills, self-confidence and the ability to interact with peers and adults
  • Overall interest in the subjects being taught
  • Incidents of bullying

Big Brothers Big Sisters

Who Are We: For just a few hours a couple of times per month, you can help a child succeed.  Big Brothers Big Sisters is different from other mentoring organizations in that we seek volunteers who are committed and consistent, willing to serve at least a year, but we hope until a chid graduates high school.  Studies show that by doing so, our mentoring services help kids stay in school, avoid risky behaviour, and experience first-hand the importance of helping others in their community.

Professional staff are there to work with you, the child, and the family throughout the relationship to provide necessary training and support.

Seeking Volunteers / Participants: Because every Kid is ONE Caring Adult Away From Being a Success Story.

BRIM Network - Building Resilince in Mission

Who We Are: BRIM is Building Resilience in Mission: A Transition Town Initiative. We’re a fledgling group with a big dream:
“To transform the District of Mission from a fossil-fuel-dependent society into a resilient, sustainable, re-localized, vibrant community that treads lightly on the earth.”  We’re working towards a cleaner, greener, more localised community, but we’re not shaking fingers or carrying fists. Instead, we’re rolling up our sleeves, joining our hands and striving to inspire, enthuse, and focus on possibilities. What can we create together?
BRIM is pleased to work with individuals, organizations and corporations who are actively supporting or working towards Transition goals.

Baptist Church, Sovereign Grace

Who We Are:  We believe the Church is made up of all who in faith have embraced Jesus Christ as Lord and Redeemer, and that the baptism of believers by immersion is the outward, visible sign pointing to that inward, invisible work of God’s Holy Spirit in the heart of man which results in faith and repentance. Knowledge for living, not just knowing! We are learning together how to live new lives in Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour.
