Soapbox Derby

Who Are We: The Mission & District Soapbox Derby Association was incorporated in October of 2000 as a non-profit association for the historical Mission Soapbox Derby. Our executive and members live and work in Mission and the surrounding communities. We rely upon local businesses for corporate sponsorship, including the District of Mission. 

Seeking Volunteers / Participants: Over 150 volunteers are needed to help organize and participate in this event. This is a community event and without the support of community groups, businesses and private citizens, this event would not be possible.

Paterson Tea Room, and an assortment of gift cases, displaying gift cards, books, and many other locally handcrafted items for purchase.  The Mission Arts Centre is also home to our many programs, classes and special events.  The Mission Arts Council also offers opportunites for membership and volunteering.

Mission Seniors Activity Centre

Who We Are: Every day our centre is filled with seniors taking part in educational, recreational and social programs. We welcome you to join us any week day by stopping by our lounge or dropping in to one of our many social activity programs.  We offer numerous programs that include activities such as art classes, card tournaments, dancing and computer classes. Mission Seniors Activity Centre provides a place for seniors to socialize and share experiences and enabling you to become an active and supportive member of the community.

Clarke Theatre

Who We Are: The Clarke Foundation Theatre opened in 1996 with a gala celebration, a culmination of years of hard work and fund raising. Since that time it has been the cultural hub of the community of Mission with hundreds of presentations highlighting the enormous wealth of local as well as Canadian and international talent. The Clarke Theatre is owned and operated by the Mission School District, No. 75 and is a multi-purpose facility for civic and touring events.

Who We Are: Operated by the Mission District Historical Society, the Mission Community Archives serves as a central repository for all community records that document the social, economic, and political development of the District of Mission and the Fraser Valley Regional District Electoral Areas.  The holdings include the records of individuals and families, arts and community organizations, clubs and local businesses and some local government. The archives also maintain a small reference collection pertaining to the history of the municipality, genealogical research, and the administration of archives.

Fraser River Heritage Park - District of Mission (DOM)

Who We Are: Fraser River Heritage Park is Mission’s largest park, rich in history, natural beauty and with numerous amenities, the ideal location for gatherings of all sizes. The scenic views and the leisurely walking trails connect the Hatzic and Heritage Park areas of Mission. A great line up of events takes place in the park each year and the park is always looking for enthusiastic gardeners!

Mission Museum

Who We Are: The Mission Museum is located in Mission, BC, Canada, and is dedicated to upholding the goals of the Mission District Historical Society: "Recording our History, Educating the Community, Preserving our Heritage."  Operated by the Society, the Mission Museum exists for the purpose of preserving the history of Mission by way of the collection, preservation, documentation, research and interpretation of three-dimensional objects related to our community's history, making it available to all people through exhibits, events and public programming.
